Innovation Retail Lab has as its goal the transformation of the traditional point of sales in a more and more important to deliver digital services that integrate e-commerce and traditional commerce.
The initiative began in November 2011 at the initiative of Marco Andoh (CEO Disignum) and the team RDS & Company (actually the Fiera Milano Group) with the main purpose to make known all the technologies for the retail world through the exhibition at the Fair and a workshop dedicated to innovation and technology for this sector.
Disignum and some partners presented themselves for the first time at the Milan Salone del Franchising providing the show their own solutions. In particular, the system was used to accommodate the participants at the fair, providing information on the positioning of the exhibitors and the program of events thanks to a touchscreen. The collaboration between Disignum and RDS & Company has allowed us to establish a working relationship continued.
2012 marked the year of the growth of Retail Innovation Lab. Disignum and RDS & Company under the patronage of the Lombardy Region and the first collaboration of Assintel. During the 27th edition of Franchising was asked to exhibiting companies to respond to a questionnaire designed to understand what it was innovation. The collected data have generated a report prepared by 'University of Milan, Department of Computer Science, which was presented at the Salone del Franchising and delivered to all participants of the questionnaire. In the same edition Retail Innovation Lab has also set up an exhibition area that has maximized the visibility of the most innovative in the event and the presence of dedicated moments in the calendar of conferences. The next phase marked the birth of the Working Group Innovation in Retail, in January 2013, by the initiative of Marco Andoh (AD Disignum) and Luciano Cavazzana (Ingenico Italy & amp; Eastern Europe Managing Director).
The Working Group has been able to count on the contribution of Econocom Italy, Guttadauro, HS&Custom, Ingenico, KGroupe and NEC. Business realities different but with one goal related to the research and study of innovations in retail.
Thanks to the ongoing collaboration between RDS & Company and Marco Andoh (CEODisignum) GDL Innovation in Retail Assintel was presented at the 28th edition of the franchise where he presented an innovative concept of Store 2.0. In accordance with the founding principle of the GDL Innovation in Retail it is shown to the franchisor as the technologies can be used in a shop to transform the simple purchase of a product in a real experience.

The next edition of the Show will become a real professional fair distribution, taking the name of Franchising Fair – International Retail Expo.
